Delightfully Detailed Double Duty - CTC184

Hello everyone! It's Sunday again and time for the CASEing the Catty Blog Hop. This week we are CASEing from the .......

I've CASEd the card in the second row, on the far left, pictured above. Instead of using those gorgeous Delightfully Detailed Note Cards, I've created my own backgrounds using the Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Speciality Paper. I did this by laying the beautiful Laser-Cuts over a piece of Whisper White Cardstock and brayered over them with the Sponge Brayers, essentially using the Laser-Cuts as a stencil. The colours I used were Bermuda Bay, Granny Apple Green and Lemon Lime Twist.

I have used the Detailed with Love Stamp set and the awesome new Detailed Trio Punch to make the decorative corners and round them off on the little white rectangle piece. It's a bit hard to see in the photo but I have also layered some of the Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon below the sentiment panel.

Of course after creating these cards I was left with the now coloured laser-cut pieces, so waste not want not, I created four more cards.

I made these up as little note cards on Basic Black Cardstock and added some Stitched Shapes Framelits circles, the little Bermuda Bay circle was embossed with the Quilt Top Embossing Folder and the larger Lemon Lime Twist one was stamped with sentiments from the Stitched All Around Stamp Set and decorated with Basic Jewel Pearls that I have colour coordinated by colouring them with my Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blend Pen. Oh, can't forget the cute little bee! He is from the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits.

I loved getting the Sponge Brayers out and having a little inky fun and what a quick way to get eight cards made using the Detailed Laser-Cut Speciality Paper!

Now be sure to hop all the way round and see what the rest of the crew have CASEd this week, your next stop is Mel Pagano who is sure to have something stunning for you to see. Just click the graphic below......

We'd love it if you played along with us this week, it's easy to do and you don't need to blog. For more details click the graphic below......

You're the Best - CTC183 Animal Expedition

Hello lovelies! How is it that it is Sunday again! The weeks are just going way to fast, but at least we get to CASE (Copy & Share/Selectively Everything/Edit) the brand new annual catty! This week the CASEing the Catty Crew are taking inspiration from the section Animal Expedition, pages 26 - 37.

I have CASEd the card pictured below in the top right of the picture.....

How cute are those animals on that Designer Series Paper (DSP)?! I haven't got that paper yet, (definitely on the top of the wishlist though), so I have swapped it for some of the gorgeous Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper. This card sketch is great for using up some of the yummy DSP that some of us can be a bit guilty of squirrelling away for a rainy day, as it is too pretty to cut up!! Can anyone relate??

For my Pear Pizzazz banner I have distressed the banner over and over with my bone folder until I could gently peel/split the paper in half to reveal the velvety/distressed effect on the inside. The foliage is die cut from the Sweet Cake Framelits and the sentiment is white heat embossed and from the Label Me Pretty Stamp Set.

I really love the Frames Elements Embellishments, adding a little bit of wood really adds a nice touch I think and you get so many in the pack, great value! To top my embellishment cluster off  I have threaded a piece of the Nature's Twine through a True Gentleman Button.

The inside is finished off with a bit of stamping and some off-cuts of DSP, waste not, want not!

We would love it if you played along with our challenge this week, to do so is easy, no need to have a blog, just a Facebook page. For more details click the graphic below....

Make sure you hop all the way round and see all that the crew have created for you this week. I have the gorgeous & very talented Angela Meiritz-Reid following me, so make sure you click the graphic below to hop on over and see the super sweet card she has created this week!

Thank you for stopping by today, I do appreciate you reading my blog and leaving comments, it makes my day!

Inky hugs, Megan xx

CASEing the Tea Room - CTC182

Have I told you how much I love CASEing (Copy & Selectively Edit) the gorgeous Stampin' Up! catalogues (catties)?? It is so much fun and makes it super easy to set about on a creative journey, somewhere to start from, a jumping off point. Often times I think I end up with a finished project that may be in a style that I don't often do ( I do think I am a bit eclectic though, jumping from one style to another!) , or a colour combo I may have never thought to put together.

This week the CASEing the Catty Crew are CASEing from this section of the catty.....

And I was drawn to this card....

I hadn't done any watercolour washes for a while and thought that would be fun.

I've used the Petal Palette Stamp Set and coordinating dies, my emboss resist watercolour background uses the Sheet Music Background Stamp. The colours I've used are Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Grapefruit Grove and I think it was Poppy Parade!! I need to take notes!

We'd love it if you joined in with our challenge! If you click the graphic below you will be taken to the Facebook page with all the info you need.

Next up on our blog hop is the very talented Kelly Kent, you won't want to miss Kelly's project, just click the graphic below to be transported....

Do yourself a favour this week and get inky!!

Inky hugs,

Colour INKspiration #34

Hello lovelies!

Just stopping by quickly to share with you my entry for the Colour INKspiration Challenge. I am sorry it is a quick post but I'm working again this weekend and I just got home to find out hubbie is taking me out for dinner! Yeah date night! You understand right?! Got to seize the opportunity when it presents!

This is the colour palette for this challenge......

I decided to pull out the new Pick a Pennant Stamp set and create a long narrow card. Pick a Pennant has coordinating thinlit dies, that makes this stamp set even more versatile. I've not got the dies yet, so have just stamped the images straight onto my matt.

I've used the white tulle polka dot ribbon and coloured it with my Calypso Coral Stampin' Blend to create my own colour coordinated ribbon. The sentiment is from Fairy Celebration.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I've got to fly and get ready!

Cheers Megan xx

It's a New Catty!!! - CTC181

Exciting times for the CASEing the Catty Crew, a whole new Annual Catalogue to take inspiration from! This week it's free rein, CASE (Copy & Selectively Edit) from anywhere in the new catty! Make sure you have pen & paper at hand as the crew are going to grow those wish lists for you!

I had to pull out the new stamp set, Animal Outing, that I received at OnStage (Stampin' Up's biannual conference). IT IS SO CUTE and it has a kangaroo!! I set about stamping the animal images with Memento Black Ink and then coloured them with Stampin' Blends, Stampin' Up's alcohol markers. These alcohol markers are awesome, I've used other brands before (i.e C#P*C) and our alcohol markers are comparable in quality but better than the others as ours have better shaped nibs. One end is a brush nib (same as) but the other end has a much more practical bullet nib. Due to their popularity they were out of stock for a moment but are back in stock now AND come mid June, a whole heap of new colours will be added to the collection.

Once, I had my images coloured it was time to find a project to CASE that I could incorporate my coloured images. Flicking through the catalogue, I happened across page 136 and thought perfect as I could also incorporate another free stamp set that I got at OnStage, Swirly Frames AND the new In Colour 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (DSP). Winner, winner.......

First up, my favourite! I love the new Poppy Parade Cardstock combined with the Blueberry Bushel DSP. It really pops!

The Swirly Frames Stamp Set coordinates with the Layering Circles & Layering Squares Framelit Dies so cutting out is a cinch.

Next up the super cute kangaroo.....

New colours Balmy Blue and Grapefruit Grove combine for another dynamic colour combo.

Last, but not least, the giraffe and his froggy friend!

Highland Heather & Pineapple Punch, new colours, also feature in this one, very punchy indeed!

The insides of the cards all use off cuts of the DSP to decorate.....

Something I should also let you know is that Animal Outing also comes with coordinating framelits, Animal Friends, no fussy cutting needed 😉.

Enough from me, it's time for you to keep on hopping, next stop is Simone Bartrum, who has a stunner of a card to show you. Just click the graphic below.....

We would love it if you played along with our challenge, more details can be found by click in the graphic below.....

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

ESAD 2018 Annual Catalogue Launch Blog Hop

Happy times! The new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue has just been released to the public as of the 1st June. Have you made your wish list yet? Mine gets longer every time I flick through the catalogue! The catalogue is available online and can be downloaded as a PDF or if you would like a hard copy (something to pop on the bedside table and peruse as you wind down from the day) give me a hoy!

For this blog post I am participating in a blog hop with twenty-seven other demonstrators who are all members of the ESAD Facebook group, that means lots and lots of inspiration for you! Make sure you have pen & paper beside you as I'm pretty confident that after seeing everyone's fabulous creations that you will need to add a item or two to your wish list!

For my project, I wanted to showcase the fabulous new stamp positioning tool, the Stamparatus. Quite a few of my customers have been counting down the days until the 1st of June, so that they can get their very own. We have been using my Stamparatus (that I got in the pre order) in card class and once someone uses it, they want one for themselves!

I really wanted to give the Round & Round Technique a go that I saw demonstrated by Alison Okamitsu, Alison's YouTube video can be viewed HERE. For my card I enlarged the square templates to four inches square.

This is the base of my card before I added the embellishments so you can see exactly how the technique ended up. Doesn't it look a bit like looking into one of those kaleidoscopes that we had as kids?! This technique is great for making wreaths out of your foliage stamps! Using this technique has them perfectly spaced out.

I've used the new stamp set Rooted in Nature, if you like the existing Lovely as a Tree stamp set, you are going to LOVE Rooted in Nature, oh so many beautiful images. It also has coordinating framelits, Nature's Roots and is a part of the gorgeous Nature's Poem Suite. Everything in this suite you need, take my word for it, the Designer Series Paper, the trinkets, the twine, all combine to create gorgeousness!!

I've also used the Detailed Trio punch AGAIN! It's definitely one of my favourite new products! A little sparkle is achieved with gold heat embossing, sequins and gold thread. The gold die cut is from the Little Loves Framelits.

Some inside love!

To continue on your journey, you just need to click the graphic below and upon doing that you will be transported over to see what Mandy Depiazzi has in store for you! If you ever get lost, there is a list at the end of my post with all the participants links.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Cheers Megan xx
