Thanks for Lifting Me Up - CTC120

Today's post is a card I made for the Caseing the Catty Challenge. This week we had to case a project between pages 46 - 49. As I was flicking through I noticed the superhero card with the city skyline, pictured here.....

This immediately made me think of a card I have been wanting to do with the Designer Series Paper, "Carried Away", this paper pack can be obtained for free until the 31st March when you purchase $90 of product and of course there are MANY other freebies to choose from. Stampin' Up! has just added a third installment of products that you can get for free, making the choices endless.

I know I am going to stock up on some embossing folders that I don't already have! Anyway, back to my inspiration when I saw that skyline I thought of the DSP with the Night of Navy/Whisper White mountains and how I wanted to fussy cut them out to create a skyline and so this card was created....

I have paired the Night of Navy with Watermelon Wonder for some pop and used Soft Sky for the, well, sky! Even using Soft Sky I felt was too strong a background colour so I did my favourite trick when a colour is too strong and that is layer it with vellum. In this case I ran it through the big shot with the Softly Falling embossing folder.

It is hard to see in the photo but the two mountain ranges are popped up on Dimensionals to give a "mountains in the distance" effect.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Below you can find a list of products I have used and remember if you would like to purchase anything you can shop 24/7 just by clicking my SHOP tab at the top of the page or as always don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or want to place an order not online.

Cheers Megan xx
