Here on the Sunshine Coast it is not very shiny! We are getting a bit of rain at the moment which I don't mind, it's good for the garden & perfect weather to craft in.
This morning I am showing you a card I made for the CASEing the Catty Challenge (CTC) #132. In my last post for CTC I wrote that CASE stands for Copy & Selectively Edit. While reading our demonstrators only quarterly publication (filled to the brim with awesome ideas on all sorts of things) I came across Stampin' Up's (SU) definition for CASE and that is Copy & Share Everything! How nice is that? It really is a lovely community the SU family, everybody is so generous with sharing ideas and nobody minds if you copy exactly, as long as you give credit where credit is due. I personally like the challenge of coming up with something uniquely mine but on days when the crafting mojo may not be there, it is quite alright to copy something exactly and why not get some inspiration from our huge, beautiful catalogue. On to the card!
Steps I took to make this card:-
- Dapper Denim card base.
- I've used the fabulous background stamp Post Script stamped off in Dapper Denim on Crumb Cake card stock. This is the first background stamp I have purchased, how can that be? I love how you can make a fab background quickity split. I am definitely getting more!
- A vellum banner with the new Ticket Tear Border Punch, Happy birthday sentiment from Best Birds embossed in copper
- A copper foil banner embossed with Petal Burst Embossing Folder and another banner from Tranquil Tide card stock stamped with a cloud from the Lift Me Up stamp set also in Tranquil Tide ink.
- Hot Air Balloons from the Lift Me Up stamp set one in Dapper Denim & one in Tranquil Tide, then cut out on the Big Shot with the coordinating dies.
And that's that! This card came together really quickly and a lot of that is due to the fact that I CASEd the picture in the catalogue on page 84. Here it is here....
As you can see the original project is a bag and I have turned it into a card front. The layout I have pretty much followed just using my own elements. Not too hard I say! Why don't you give it a go yourself? For more details click HERE!
